Let us begin by welcoming you to our hobby. Each and everyone of us had to start where you are now. Some of us 50 plus years ago and some of us yesterday. Together, we learn from each other and help our hives live long, productive lives. There is so much information on the internet about beginning in this hobby. We thought it would be helpful to sift through much of it and steer you towards some of the better articles. Remember, the old saying, "There's more than one way to skin a cat." Well in beekeeping there are a few basic principles and of course several different options. Try not to get too overwhelmed with all of the different options. As a group we will share our experiences with you and bring in wonderful speakers. This hopefully will help you make the choices that are best for you. Congratulations on your first step in becoming a New Beekeeper!

Dr. James Tew wrote a wonderful and brief manual for the alabama extension office. This is a great resource. At about 45 pages some might call it a very condensed little book! https://www.aces.edu/pubs/docs/A/ANR-0135/ANR-0135.pdf
